Congressman attempting to block F-35 sale to Turkey Zachary Fryer-Biggs - IHS Jane's Defence Weekly

US congressman David Cicilline, a Democrat from Rhode Island, has released a proposed amendment to the 2018 National Defense Authorization Act on 7 July that would bar the transfer of Lockhed Martin F-35s to Turkey.
The amendment would prevent any funds from being used to execute a transfer until President Donald Trump issues a certification stipulating that Turkey is co-operating with a criminal probe into clashes between Turkish security and protestors in Washington, DC on 17 May.
Video from the clashes showed security from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Turkey, who was in Washington for meetings with US administration officials, interacting with protestors.
