ISIS is in its death throes, but the war in Syria is still not over. It is safe to say that at the moment Syrian Army and Kurds are winning the war.

Syrian Army with the help of Russia is having the upper hand over the rebels this year and this trends will continue.

Idlib, the biggest green territory on the map is still contested and there are going to be much fighting. Al Nusra (HTS today) must be defeated before.

South Syria is still in rebels hand. East Ghouta too, along with Rastan pocket and some other. Syrian Army is clearly winning against islamists and rebels, as nobody is helping them in these areas, so there must be either defeat or reconciliation.

Other part of Syria still not under the control of the Syrian government are firmly in hands of Turkey blue (north Aleppo) and United States (yellow, Syrian democratic forces and purple, rebels in the south ) so it will most likely wait a political solution with some sporadic.
